-June 3rd - Jackson Street & Big Springs graduations

-June 4th & 5th - Helping Walter & Gail Childs move. Parents and youth are welcome to help. Meet at their current residence at 317 Valley Dr. Yreka

-June 5th - YHS Graduation at Miner Field at 10 am

-June 6th - Moving up party for incoming 9th graders, 6-8 pm at GCBC

-June 9th - Moving up party for incoming 7th graders, 6-8 pm at GCBC

-June 14th-18th - VBS - The chance to help out with Vacation Bible School is available for both Junior and Senior High. Talk to Debbie Wetzig or myself for more information.

-June 20th - Father's Day - There will be no Senior High Youth group as all youth are invited to celebrate with their family.

-June 12th & 26th - Step-Off Meetings (for upcoming 9th graders who are taking the challenge I present them) 10-12 am at GCBC followed by pizza lunch

Small Groups starting back up: In case you didn't know, Fragrance, the small group for girls has resumed and is meeting on Thursday nights at the church from 6-7:30 pm. This group is for girls from 7th to 12th grade. C.O.B.R.A.S. will also be starting back up again, beginning on June 10th. We will also meet at the church at the same time as the girls group (in a different room though.) This group is also open for boys from 7th to 12th grade. Come on out for the chance to develop your faith in God and your friendships with other youth!!!

Our Compassion Child: We are sponsoring little Mayerlis Pastrana from Columbia as a group and I am proud to announce that we have raised the required money for May already! Great job guys and gals!

Times are a-changing: If you are part of the Junior High youth group, we will not have our usual group on June 2nd due to graduations and Baccalaureate. Come out that night and support your graduating friends at GES, MES, or YHS. Beginning June 9th, the incoming 7th graders will join the group AND we will move the time to 6-8 pm. It is currently from 6:30-8 pm. Senior High will remain at the same time.

Invite a friend week: I recently told the Senior High about a few changes we would be making. We will begin having an "Invite a friend" week, where youth are especially encouraged to bring friends who may not attend church at all. We will focus the lesson that week on the basics of the gospel and the message will be evangelistic in nature. This special time will be the last Sunday of each month.

Step-Off Support Meetings: Those upcoming 9th graders who take the challenge to go through this 30 day journey are invited to these Saturday morning get-togethers to discuss the challenges they are facing and what they are learning. We will also celebrate the accomplishments and have a pizza lunch after the meetings. See calendar for dates and times.

Challenge of the Month: As you can see, June will be a very busy month for the youth. From graduations to discipleship groups, it will be crazy. The challenge is to find ways to SERVE!!! There will be lots of opportunities this summer from helping the Childs move, to VBS, to Junior Camp, and other projects to come. Get involved and let's be the hands and feet of Jesus!!!
