Why we give.
Giving is an act of worship to a God who has given us His all. The Bible calls us to give all of our lives to God as a “living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1-2). This includes our time and talents, as well as our finances.
We give from a sense of profound gratitude rather than obligation because we recognize that God has given us everything. He gave us life and breath (Acts 17:28), every good thing in our life is a gift from His hand (James 1:25), He sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross in payment for our sin debt (Romans 5:8), and He gives us His Spirit to guide us (John 16:13).
We give to further the work of the gospel and bless others, not to get things for ourselves. Giving is not a way to manipulate God into giving us more. It is a small way in which we can be part of what He is doing in this world. Your gifts fund the work of our church in our community and the domestic and international missionaries we partner with. Check out the mission board in the church foyer for a snapshot of who we partner with in advancing the gospel message!
God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)! Thanks for joining us in fulfilling the Great Commission and our mission to “Draw people to Jesus and grow together as His followers.”
