Week of 9/28/25

Dear Church Family,
We've been in fall for one week technically, but the rain yesterday and the cool, foggy morning(here in Grenada) make it feel real! I hope some of you are able to make it out to Kidder Creek's Fall Festival this Saturday(10am-6pm). Perhaps invite another friend or family and make a point of visiting with them and learning more about them and their relationship with Jesus.
As far as fall goes, take a moment this week and simply ask yourself, "what season am I in with the Lord?" Does it seem like winter, spring, summer, fall? Is it a time of pruning, or fruit, of waiting, growing? With that perspective, take some time to pray for this season(for you/family), as well as give thanks for God's faithfulness in every season.
Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. Hebrews 13:15

Home Enjoyment
Read 1 John 1:1-4
Why is John so adamant about seeing, hearing and touching Jesus?
What is the significance of what he is trying to communicate about Jesus?
What's at stake? (Look at 1 John 2:22-23)
Do you know who John is talking about when he says 'we'? Why is that important?

What things does John want for the person reading/listening to what he says? (Read also ch. 5:13)
Does he want them to 'get' eternal life or 'have' eternal life? What's the difference?
What does fellowship have to do with eternal life? With God? With Others?
Fellowship comes from the word Koinonia, which means 'in common' or 'participation' in the fullest sense.
Take a few minutes and describe as many aspects of what Koinonia looks like(or can look like) with God.
Now do the same with what that looks like with other believers.

How has koinonia with Jesus and others led to joy in your life? Is your joy complete?

Personal application/meditation.
What in your life competes with or brings hesitation to living in such fellowship?
Does where John says there is life sound like life to you? Ask the Lord to show you where you need to trust him and go to him for life. John will help us go through this, but begin to pray that the Lord would show you real life.

Extra Study
Read John 3:1-21. What parallels do you see with our passage and what Jesus tells Nicodemus?

Thankful to God to be an 'undershepherd' of the Shepherd among you all,
Pastor Phillip
