Week of 6/1/25, Video, Jr Camp Reg

Dear Church Family,
Every Sunday it is a blessing to gather. Every Sunday we gather together is a gift, an opportunity to worship our Savior together. But every Sunday as a church family is not a given or only point of contact with the Lord. Therefore each day we are looking to the Lord and trusting that he has our life and wellbeing in His good hands. Every day we are looking to Him for direction in the details of our lives or we are looking elsewhere, to ourselves or someone else. He has given us His Word, His Spirit, and His Body to help us know his will.
So I pray you make the most of each day and one another this week by spending time with the Lord daily and praying for one another, reaching out to someone in Jesus' name.

Home Enjoyment
Read 1 Samuel 22 (focus this week is on 6-23).
What contrasts do you see with Saul's followers and David's followers?
Does having Saul's benefits make it more or less difficult for his followers to follow God and his anointed when things get difficult? Why?
What parallels do you see in what Jesus says in Matthew 6:19-24?

What strikes you about Ahimelech in his speaking to Saul? What is his 'confession' of David?
Confession is typically an acknowledgement of something as true or false, or that you believe. Ahimelech has a very similar 'confession' of David to what Jonathan gave in ch.19:5.
How does this change your view of confession?
What should our regular confession of Jesus Christ include? To whom?

Back to Saul's servants... They seem to be riding the fence by being unwilling to confront Saul or tell him he's crazy, but willing to take his vineyards. They are unwilling to kill his priests, but we don't see any of them stop their slaughter.
Why are they so lacking in devotion or conviction?
Read 1 John 2:15-17, James 4:1-10, and Revelation 3:14-22.
Based on these scriptures, what would you tell them and yourself?

Consider your daily confession of Jesus to yourself and others, is it accurate and full?
Consider where you are tempted to sell out instead of standing with Jesus, God's Anointed. Will you repent and follow Jesus?

Extra Extra
The chapter closes on a somber note with David admitting fault in the death of Abiathar's family. How does God provide for Abiathar in this moment?
Read James 1:2-15, Romans 8:18-30.
What do the following verses say about understanding our suffering as his children?

A number of you asked about the video I showed this last Sunday, here is a link.

We are excited for our Pilgrim's Progress journey for our church Junior Bible Camp! Registration and Details Here.
Blessings

In Christ,
Pastor Phillip
