Week of 6/29/25 and Potluck Picnic
Dear Church Family,
What a gift to have the Kidder Creek Staff this last Sunday! I was thinking about what makes it so special and a few things came to mind.
It is a delight to see young people seeking to serve the Lord and follow Him.
It is a delight to join together with other believers from other places and praise God together. (1 Corinthians 1:2 To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:)
Remember how precious it is for us to gather at all, on any Sunday, as a group of believers who get to worship and be an expression of Jesus' body to each other and those in Grenada and Shasta Valley.
Let us be in prayer for the Kidder Creek staff as they show and teach Jesus Christ to campers this week and also for us a church community pointing those around us to Jesus this week.
Home Enjoyment
Mike from Kidder Creek preached about God's restoration out of Joel 2:25.
He spoke about how restoration is part of God's character. Where do you see examples in scripture? Where have you experienced God's restoration?
What are some reasons we struggle with or resist God's restoration?
In thinking of biblical examples my mind immediately goes to Saul when he was first confronted by Samuel (1 Samuel 13:8-14), in the new testament the Rich Young Ruler (Matthew 19:16-26). Can you think of others? Why did they resist God's work?
We are given assurance of being made new through faith in Christ and that gives us incredible and real hope, but we are not guaranteed an immediate physical restoration of every situation or removal of consequences.
How does faith become important in these situations?
Read 2 Corinthians 5:17-6:10.
How does this reflect the work of God in his restored ones?
Where do you need to trust God in his work of restoration in your life?
Announcements
There is a potluck picnic at the Johnson home (6400 Shelley Road, Montague) this Sunday after church (12:30ish). There will be lawn games and good conversation in the shade of the trees!
After lunch there are several folks who will be getting baptized, please come and celebrate God's work in their lives!
Please bring:
A lawn chair
A dish or side with plenty for yourself and others to share
Grace and Peace to you all!
