Week of 6/22/25
Dear Church Family,
This week is short and sweet. There is much to unpack in regards to 1 Samuel 25, but Jr. Bible Camp calls!
Home Enjoyment
Read 1 Samuel 25
We don't know for sure how affected David was by Samuel's death, but it likely affected David in some way. Have you ever made a bad decision in the midst of grief?
What would you tell yourself now after looking at this story?
What are some of the things that Abigail pointed out to David, about God and himself, that helped him see his sin? How can you do the same?
What in particular was foolish about Nabal's words and actions?
How did they show an absence of faith?
When was the last time you gave thanks to the Lord for stopping you from sinfully taking things into your own hands? Are there any current situations you need to turn over to God?
Read 1 Corinthians 10:12-13. What parallels do you see in David's story with this verse. Take time to thank God for this promise and ask for humility and strength to 'take the way of escape' next time you are tempted.
Is there anything in your marriage that needs to be shared with a brother or sister in Christ or an elder? Please do not hide, honor the Lord and your spouse by getting the help you need.
Need
A brother in our church is currently living out of his car. He needs a place to park a pop-up camper trailer where he can stay with his cats until low income housing opens for him in mid-late July OR for someone to take his 3 cats so he can get other housing. Let pastor Phillip know if this might be a possibility.
Announcement
NO potluck this coming Sunday, on the following Sunday, July 6 there will be a potluck picnic and baptism at the Johnsons in Montague. Please call the office to talk with Pastor Phillip or one of the elders if you desire to be baptized.
Blessings,
Pastor Phillip
