Week of 9/27/26 and Fall Fest
Dear Church Family,
As we looked at the Future Events section of statement of faith this week I want to sincerely encourage you to set as priority gathering together with the church every week that you possibly can. I say that for your sake and the glory of God, not my own! I have put this passage out multiple times, but it is so fitting...
Hebrews 10:23-25 - Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
If we don't meet together, we will look at things going on in the world and our lives, and not seek out the solutions that God calls us to personally or as his body acting in this world. Where else can we find the strength for true life but in Christ and His body?
How are you stirring up others to love Christ, to prioritize living life for him, and be ready for his coming? Are you receiving that kind of encouragement or challenge from anyone else?
May we be a church that does this, and all the more as the Day of His Return draws near!

We will continue for a few weeks to have some topical messages following up on our doctrinal statement, but here is the final section. Some of the scriptures are longer sections, so if you are using this for a small group you may need to pick one or two of the longer passages. The 1 Thessalonians passage is an excellent synopsis.
Read the statement and look at how the different passages speak to what is said.
We believe in the imminent, bodily, personal return of Jesus Christ. On a day known only to God, Jesus will return for His Church. God will reunite all human souls with resurrected, imperishable bodies. This will be followed by the final judgment of the wicked into the lake of fire and eternal life for God’s children in a new heaven and a new earth, restoring all creation to a joyful, God-honoring state. (Matt. 24:27-36; John 5:28-29; 14:3; Acts 1:7, 11; Rom. 8:1, 18-25; 1 Cor. 15:20- 26, 35-57; 2 Cor. 5:1-10; Col. 1:19-20; 1 Thes. 4:15-5:3; Rev. 11:15, 19:11-21:5).

What are some reasons God is waiting? Read 2 Peter 3:8-10
Why is it significant that Jesus is returning in his real glorified body? What does it mean about him and for us?
What about Jesus' return is personal? Read 2 Timothy 4:7-8, Hebrews 10:32-36
How is his personal return important?
What are some reasons it is important to know that God is going to resurrect our bodies?
How does knowing the value God has placed in designing and saving our bodies help you to honor him with your current one? Read 1 Corinthians 6:18-19,
How does the God giving us the knowledge of what is coming meant to shape our living now? Read 2 Corinthians 5:8-11, Matthew 24:45-51, 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
