Week of 7/28/24

Dear Church Family,
God is gracious to us beyond what we could measure. We see that in Jesus. What a blessing when we are able to be the means by which he shows that grace to someone?! Are you a conduit of God's grace and patience to those he has put around you?

We looked at service in the church body, particularly the deacons as being lead servants. Here are some scriptures and questions to consider service in the Body further.
Home Enjoyment
Read 1 Timothy 3:8-13.
How does each qualification speak to us about what service should look like?
What are some similarities we see in Jesus' service to us(when it comes to one wife just think of the Church)?
Read Romans 12:1-8.
What does this passage show us about everyone's service in the local church body?
Trick question -
What percentage of our service should be done at the church building?
Is your service to the body limited to the church building? What does it look like?
Ask the Lord to help you see how he wants you to serve His body... when, where, how.

Mexico Update
We are so blessed to be here in Mexico and serving alongside Jim and Annie Culp (our church missionaries) and also Pastor Cesar and Miriam with Plan Perfecto. We have about 25 children from age 2-14 at our VBS. We walked through the rural community yesterday to invite the children to VBS and they came! Please pray for us especially today as we share the gospel through the “Wordless Book.”  The construction of the church building is going well. 3 men from another ministry are also helping with this. Today, the major construction will probably be finished and tomorrow will be painting and other finish work. Our team is healthy and enjoying the time here. Each evening we have singing, devotions and sharing along with prepping VBS for the next day. Each of us are growing in the Lord as we serve. Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We plan to be back home Friday early evening.

Picnic
All church potluck picnic and baptism after the morning church service at the Johnson's. We live at 6400 Shelley road, Montague. Bring a lawn chair, food to share. Drinks and tableware provided. There will be lawn games and fellowship, maybe even a sprinkler running if needed. : )

Blessings,
Pastor Phillip
