Week of 7/7/24

Dear Church Family,
The prayer of faith is precious to the Lord, whether coming from the most broken place or the place of steadfast belief. The Lord inclines his ear to those who call out to him and it is instantaneous and wonderful... 'Jesus take the wheel' anyone??
At the same time it is hard for people to hear or receive, but the ear of the Lord is not inclined to those who stand, sit, or walk in unbelief. God mercifully waits and continues to be faithful in every way, waiting for the repentant heart that would humbly acknowledge him as He deserves.
Where is your heart?

Home Enjoyment
Look at Ephesians 6:18-20.
We are given the strength of the Lord(vs10), the armor of God(vs11-17), and prayer in the Spirit.
How do each of these things help you understand your need for the Lord in the spiritual battles of life?
How does prayer, bringing the issues of our lives to the feet of the Lord in faith, prepare us for supplication?
What is the benefit of praying in the Spirit when it comes to praying for others?
Read James 1:1-18 and 4:1-4
How do our desires conflict with praying in the Spirit?
How does that change what you pray for? Or the objective of your prayer?

Extra Credit
Incense in the Old Testament was at the entrance to the Holy of Holies, God's presence. (Ex 30:1-10).
Incense in Revelation is the prayers of the saints. (Rev. 5:8, 8:3-4)
The Fire, old and new, represents the Holy Spirit.
Take a moment to think through the picture of the temple, old and new, and make the connections with the Old to New Testament fulfillment of praying in the Spirit and our prayers being in God's presence.
