Week of 12/15/24

Dear Church Family,
It was so fun to sing the truths and wonders of Christmas together this last Sunday! If you are like our family there is a lot going on and it is a blessing to be able to stop and think on the phenomenal idea of the 'noel' (birth) of God with us, Emmanuel.
May you like Mary keep singing his praises in the midst of the business and difficulty you face!

Home Enjoyment
Read Luke 1:39-55
What things did Elizabeth point out as distinguishing young Mary?
Where did Mary put the focus in her response?
How does this shape our responses to others when they see good things that we have done in obedience to God?
How often do you thank God for saving your soul or to rejoice that he has?
Have you ever used a pair of binoculars or a microscope? What does it do to something when you magnify it? What are some examples of how to magnify God in your daily life?
In vs 49 Mary acknowledges what God has done for her and his holiness.
How do these two things help us see God more clearly for who he is?
Are you ever tempted to take credit for the good things in your life? Or imagine your bad to be greater than God's mercy?
When we magnify God as holy, we see his mercy is greater than our sin.
Vs 50 How does this lead to a generational pattern?

Vs 51-53 What are some things that help or keep people from magnifying God?
Vs 54-55 What final reason is given for Mary's magnifying God?

Personal Application
What are some things/ways in your life you use to magnify yourself?
How can you turn those things into places where you are magnifying God?
May your soul magnify Jesus more and more this Christmas!
